❌ The dark rooms they're looking for aren't exactly goth, it's called DARK ACADEMIA - a pretty newly recognized design. Although I've noticed it for years, and have been designing my house with LIGHT ACADEMIA for over 35 years!
Circling back, they call it goth in searches, because they don't know what it's called. If you look for DARK ACADEMIA, the same things would come up. LIGHT ACADEMIA as I mentioned before, users the same principles, however everything is light and airy, and I'm my home I'm using both, in different rooms, and they tie GORGEOUSLY together. I love it because it place attention on academies - so incentives, explorations, philosophy, ckassical and Baroque music - it's HUGE in the interior design, and it's also a way of dressing, as well a type of music. You can find them on Pinterest and You Tube. Please look it up, because you're using some of the trend, and not only with the bold - moody colors, but with your collection of heads figures as well. NOOOO to blue on the walls!!! I love tea, so does my dog, I don't give her much, tea's have medicinal purposes, I gave her calming tea when she was a puppy, she was a wild child, it helped her. I am in the process of making my basement into my emotional escape room, it is turning out to be awesome. I hate to be a Debbie downer, but: I won't get in lake water, it creeps me out not knowing what is down where you can't see, I had a fish bite me several times, it kept coming at me, water snakes will chase you, that happened to me as well, so be careful with that. LOL Jack, LOL, I am a candle freak 2, too funny. I have 5 cats, they all have their own bedrooms, they all have queen size beds except for Furbee he only has a twin size.I just painted my basement black, my sunroom, and the bottom half of my open diningroom and kitchen, I love black, white, and a touch of creams, brass.

Greeks may not have started history, but certainly western civilization! Love your content.

I’ve personally been focusing on cozy lately. I want my home to be warm. I want to feel like I can come in a room and sink into the sofa under a soft blanket. I probably wouldn’t do a whole room in black, but I’ve incorporated black accents. In my bedroom, I have a built in shelving nook. I’ve painted the inside black. I’ve added some art with black frames. But I want the bedding to be cozy so I’m making a huge quilt made of hand dyed fabrics and I’m going to add velvety soft pillows. I’ve done a section of wallpaper in my bedroom in a floral. I’ve bought some vintage items in wood, ceramic and alabaster. It sounds crazy but it works.

OPÁ!! I loved Greece when I visited years ago. Turns out I lived across the street from a Greek Orthodox Church for a few years and I can say, bar none, Greeks throw the best parties!!

I feel like everyone’s been focusing on an emotional escape room lately. I have a pop up tent in my back yard that’s all mine. Last year it had cozy ottomans with fuzzy covers and pillows and don’t forget candles.

Okay so we’ve had an “emotional escape room” for several years. This includes a wall of throwback 80s-90s toys, Oculus VR heads sets, the latest DJ mix board, Mac desktop, boosted board, loveSaks and all the latest gaming equipment. Also, I always rotate my paintings etc on the wall. IT WORKS FOR US I’m 37 and my husband is 45. We’re big kids I guess😆

I just had a painter do 80% of the interior walls and 12’ ceilings in midnight oil by Benjamin Moore and I Love it! The rooms actually look bigger.

I'm so grateful for our small home on a Minnesota Lake. There's a different perspective living in natural surroundings. The water moved by the wind, so many varieties of birds and other wildlife; nature is the focal point of our life. It has a grounding effect.

Valentina I love your black walls. I have a long entry way wall leading to the family room. Left side is the wall and on the right is my 24ft ceiling of the formal living-room. I would like to do picture frame wainscoting on the 24ft wall tall entry wall and paint it dark gray or black. What is the paint color you have in your home. Thank you in advance. I think you analyzed the "barkitecture" all wrong. First of all you said "barkiture" like furniture, instead of barkitecture like architecture. Second, it's not about creating a separate room for your pet, it's pretty much the opposite of that, in that you integrate your pet throughout your home with architecture and design meant for them to be able to enjoy, such as pet beds, crates and litter boxes that look like furniture or like designed parts of the home, rather than some ugly tihing just thrown in after. Also things like shelves and ledges meant for your cat to climb and hang out, enjoy the views. It can be a separate space like integrating a hidden room under your stairs or an unused corner, for your pup, making it look like a bedroom, or an enclosed patio that your cat can go out and enjoy the outdoors safely, but that's not the point. The point is to have your pet in mind when designing your home.

There is something so calming about water, but especially lakes! I live on Lake Superior, so I can look out my window, walk by it, and breathe the lake air any time. I love this big lake so much that it's worth the long winters just to live here!

I recently moved to the river and while I am a little bit goth, I keep gravitating toward something light, bright, open, airy, with shades of blues and whites and light wood. So, I guess that would be a bit of the Hellenic inspiration. I love the brushed brass with that color palette too. I MAY do my WIC with black walls and make it my emotional escape room though.
