I finally finished Season 1 last week and this was gutwrenching. I love Nanachi, but before they met Mitty it's easy to see that they had roughly no hope of going anywhere in life. They had no confidence in themself. Whereas Mitty from the beginning was endlessly passionate, innovative, and had such interest in the world around her. She made Nanachi happy, she made them have hope. I'm sure Nanachi in their own head wishes every day that they had swapped chambers with Mitty. Nanachi feels the need to live on and do something important with their life. The survivor's guilt must be crushing. But if the two of them really had swapped places, I honestly think Nanachi would have just broken. She may have lost all her passion in that situation anyway.
