many are bitter for not knowing that there is a perfect placement in the artifacts, hence a poorer score.
ОтветитьLmao, I completed this game like 10 times but I never knew leveling up depended on the weapon you had equipped.
ОтветитьI loved this game back then
ОтветитьGreat, not do Vagrant Story and Valkarie Profile.
ОтветитьOmg this looks incredible!!!
ОтветитьIf you have not played this before, then you should! The story and soundtrack is amazing. Completed this way back during the PS1 days
ОтветитьThis was the death of Mana. Had it on ps1 and boy was I disappointed
ОтветитьThis is the only mana game I will keep playing again 😍
ОтветитьThis game's structure was the early beta for modern open world games. When I first played it on ps1 I loved how non-linear the play through was 🤯
ОтветитьI love that the game is a spin-off of a spin-off. Also happens to be my favourite of the Mana series even if it is just a little side piece to them all.
ОтветитьOf note. Some things have been added and some things have had names changed.
Ответитьskipped all the other terrible mana remasters. Pre-ordered this as soon as it was listed on the playstation store. If only Sony would remaster Legend of Legaia (ps1) and Socom 2 and Combined Assault.
ОтветитьAuto saving is a godsend in RPGs
ОтветитьLoved this game when I was a kid (I was 7 back then. It was 2000 when I got a PS1 and this game too). I second what the reviewer said about the game's lack of direction for the quests, that's so true haha! When I played this back when I was a kid, I had no guide to use nor the knowledge and skill to use the internet. Sometimes it took HOURS to beat certain quests. I'm also not a native english speaker so there was some parts that I had to ask my parents about for me to understand what's going on, or what I needed to do. As it was also my first RPG, I didn't think of backtracking or checking out old areas if there were new quests to trigger.
It's nice to be able to play this again after so many years. The font is much nicer to read, the save-(almost)anywhere is so useful especially for smithing, and the remastered music sounds amazing. Also, I think some of the texts are rewritten / re-translated for the remaster which makes some awkward-sounding dialogue from the original much smoother to read now, which is great!
I would get this just because it looks like Golden Sun..
ОтветитьLegend of Mana was and still is one of my favorite videogames. However you can still see it’s age. It’s one of those games that you have to find and/or make a walkthrough. Even with that the most updated walkthrough is from. 2009. Right now I’m just trying to refresh and finish up the quests I wasn’t able to complete as a kid. After that… we’ll see how long I’ll play the NG+
Ответитьhmm.. didn't mention the ability combos you could do here to unlock new abilities and Specials.. unlocking 30+ Special techniques 'per weapon' (not sure on the 30+ lol but a lot... i assure you)
ОтветитьLoved this game so much, the spell/golem/weapon crafting and the artwork are amazing. Its too bad the combat kind of devolves into stun locking all enemies including bosses. That and coop player cant customize anything except in there own game and then port them over. Loved dueling friends in the arena.
ОтветитьI'm so glad my kids can finally experience this game
ОтветитьThey need to give us a Final Fantasy 6 remaster that looks like Octopath ASAP
ОтветитьWe also need a Chrono Chross remaster !!!
ОтветитьI gotta be honest: I hate this game. And through no fault of its own. It’s just... so different from any game I’ve ever seen played. It doesn’t provide a tightly written main story peppered with sidequests, it doesn’t provide a wide sandbox for you to explore, it doesn’t simply provide a fun gameplay loop with racing, minigames, shooting, or fighting other characters.
It’s just sidequests. It’s literally sidequests the game, and thanks to that, it provides a very unique vibe which may or may not float you boat.
And it completely sunk mine.
Yeah it's called being a real video game. Real video games don't hold your hands b******!
ОтветитьZion if you're reading this I just want you to know you're my favorite nintendo life guy. I love all 3 of you but you're my favorite dude. I don't even like the same games you like I just like your chill personality.
Ответитьwhat i love about the mana games it that you have to figure out how it works by yourself. you have to get into it and visit places again. most games these days are just short experiences, you forget after a day.
ОтветитьI just got my physical copy today from PlayAsia. Can’t wait to get into this. It looks awesome and absolutely beautiful. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with feeling dated.
ОтветитьOver on Steam, the PC port appears to have framerate drops during combat. Does the Switch version have issues with this?
ОтветитьLove this game.
I'd love to see legend of legia and legia 2.
The rigid clunkiness to those moves comes from you pressing your attack buttons too much, for the 2h sword press it only 3 times max, and the attack animation will not freeze at the end, same with any other weapon, I believe unarmed is like 5 button presses, other weapons might be 4 I don't remember. But yeah if you don't eff it up you can chain together a bunch of strikes and animation lock your enemy until its dizzy/stunned.
ОтветитьThis game is really great but you really need a guide for it to make sure you're placing all the artifacts in the most optimal places. Also while you can do quests in various orders there's also a more optimal way. Yea so just play this with a guide and you'll love this game
ОтветитьI remember playing Secret of Evermore when I was young young. Like on the SNES and what not. And going through the process of discovering the mechanics was pretty awesome. i totally get why not it's like... not the move, but honestly I found it pretty clear as a young one, at least in Evermore, which with regards to levelling is the same.
ОтветитьImagine them releasing the gba Sword of mama for the switch 😜
ОтветитьThis Game Sucks it is one of the WORST GAMES I have ever played the movement is Lost the gameplay frustrating and the Story Stinks Just like Square Enix
ОтветитьI have been playing the game from a few hours now, I have previously played fully both Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana, SNES versione before this. Right now I cant understand some of the critiques in this review. The combat mechanics in particular are the natural improvement on the mechanics of previous games. If you criticize these mechanics and this menu system, then you should demolish completely the ones in previous games, way clunkier. I cannot judge the story yet, I can only see that the approach is very similar to octopath traveler but, thankfully, with quite a bit less dialogues and more action. Graphics and music are top notch. I will wait to finish the game, but for the moment this is not a 6/10 game. Especially if you compare it to the two predecessors.
ОтветитьI kinda wish Zion would give his opinions on the game as well. Would like to know what he thought of about legends of mana
ОтветитьNoob review...
ОтветитьThis was my favourite game in PS1. Wish i can afford nintendo switch soon ☺️
ОтветитьThoughts on Terranigma on switch?
Ответитьi loved this game...but yes....imo it;s better to look up a guide during your 2nd playthru bc of the missables, the layout of the map can get confusing...
ОтветитьOh my god can y'all just review a game based on its old mechanics and stop trying to compare to something that just came out, like it's an old game with some new paint no duuhhhhhhhhhhhh it doesn't play like something new. This is why the aliens don't talk to us people like you.
ОтветитьIt is worth it, however you will probably want it on Steam as opposed to Switch because of the remote play feature.
ОтветитьIm enjoying this. Legwnd of mana was one of my FIRST Rpgs i was 6 when tbis came out i played it at 8 and had little issue figuring everything out. You say things are not explained however everything does get explained you just have to be willing to read up in the encyclopedias and speak with the onion knights in the first 2 quest locations that are dungeons and not towns.
ОтветитьI loved secret of mana, but when I jumped into this one I could not get into it at all. I still have the PS version of the game, but really welcomed the change back to the older formula when sword of mana remake came out & Children of Mana. I think i'm just going to skip this now. I hope with the legends of mana remake doing so well we can see a full blown new mana game in the near future though.
ОтветитьGuys, The anime adaptation is out!!! Don't miss it.
ОтветитьAll I need is Grandia and the Dark Cloud series and I’ll be set with all my childhood fav games
Ответитьi really hate the a "wtf im going to do moment"
ОтветитьBreath of fire needs a remake like “trials of mana” had. 😤😤
ОтветитьThis game has been remade and rereleased multiple times and even though this version looks beautiful...the review scores haven't improved.
ОтветитьProblem with your review is you respect the game as a pioneer, but still judge it based on modern times. I get it, But tryin not to sound too old here but it IS one of those "you had to be there blah blah things. So for the tiiiime..
One of a kind Art style (The colors alone..)
Some of THE best tracks any video games have to offer (and arguably still to this day
Awesome and ridiculous characters and dialogue (this game literally taught me words as a kid)
Gameplay was actually amazing, had the slight learning curve, but the world building came off great; as games that let you pick your own path were extremely uncommon.
Even the fighting was amazing. Bosses looked awesome, THERE IS in fact a combo system, and the specials alone were enough to play and enjoy the game.
Now fun fact: This IS a technically incomplete game, turned out that some things were rushed and omitted, But this isn't really seen until you completely dive in, and it honestly doesn't really take away from the experience.
The lore is confusing. And don't get me started on the workshop.. but then again that's where you see the games depth, as forging weapons that hit 500+ strength, finding rare materials, and creating Monstrous Golems felt like a whole nother game within a game.
Truly an amazing experience as a youngun, And not to mention it was super hard to find, and was ALWAYS being rented at the video stores, making you obsess even after you had beaten it.
It's a mana game unlike any other. I would only recommend you look up proper level map placement because there really is only one layout that will get you access to every location and artifact. Other than that enjoy explore and try to keep up with a story with SO many sub plots.
