That oversized load had an escort vehicle in front of it, probably behind it as well. The person driving the escort vehicle in front should have seen the train coming and radioed for the truck to stop before it reached the crossing.
ОтветитьI’m not a trucker although I did drive military trucks during my 40 yrs of service with the German Air Force. I see a pilot car so I do assume, that the route for this heavy transport was planned and checked beforehand. So I would reason, that the transport shouldn’t be in danger to get stuck on this crossing. Are there any procedures in place that would say that if you got trapped between the gates (and are not stuck) just step on the throttle to clear the crossing and don’t mind the damage to the gates?
Ответить😢😢
ОтветитьIM SO ANNOYED OVER THIS this was 100% preventable - someone needs to go to prison for this
ОтветитьThe parties responsible should be charged with two counts of murder.
ОтветитьIt was a Cuban driver that just got his CDL out the cracker jack box, it's pretty normal for west texas
ОтветитьThe train was going way too fast through town...
ОтветитьMy condolences go out to the two crew members that lost their lives due to stupidity of that trucking company. Every rail crossing has a blue sign with a phone number in case something like this happens, even for a minute. A minute may have given the engineer time enough to slow down, or stop.
Totally preventable.
This is What Happens When You Give UNEDUCATED People a Job.!!! GREAT JOB AMERICA.!!! IF The Truck Driver KNEW His Job, This NEVER Would have Happened. And I'm Positive that I'm Going to Receive Some Kind of NEGATIVE Feedback from MY Comment and I HONESTLY DON'T CARE.!!! TRUTH MUST HURT.!!!
ОтветитьReport that truck was stuck for over an hour AND NO CALL TO RR! Negligent homicide.
Ответитьthis is what happens when a truck was too low to cross the tracks got stuck and the driver DID NOT CALL THE 1800 NUMBER ON THE SIGN AT THE CROSSING and tell them he is stuck across the tracks I bet this bone head was sitting on the tracks for more then 30 min!!! total douche
ОтветитьLead Escort Driver should be arrested. Not the Truck driver.
Ответитьlowboy, moving vans, car carriers, fed ex and ups with land gear down, livestock hauler what eles has low clearance?
ОтветитьI have personally pushed 2 trucks off of train tracks before. Once with a backhoe and once with a telescoping forklift. In Saginaw ,Tx. On an extremely busy line.
ОтветитьSheer stupidity
ОтветитьThat trucking company is going out of business
ОтветитьI wonder who the crew members were? I might have known them.
ОтветитьAside from stupidly, poor planning on the part of the pilot team and equipment transporter - U.P. railroad’s timetable speed through such a small desert community is grossly negligible, and in my opinion, sourced out of corporate greed.
This is one of U.P’s high priority, transcontinental corridors (their Sunset Route) serving the Los Angeles port region and Chicago’s Global One inland port region as gateways all over the country. U.P. and Norfolk Southern railroad (east coast railroad ) have a guaranteed service partnership which makes this section of their route highly profitable, i.e., increased track speed along “guaranteed service” routes.
I would guess track speed during impact was between 50 and 60mph. Sadly few would associate the crime of allowing trains these sizes to travel at these speeds through small towns. The draft forces alone, as we saw are strong enough to rip an economy from under a small town if a derailment were to occur.
I’ve been in the seat where those men died operating through towns just as small. Matter of fact I worked for the same company they died on. These families have a long road to heal, hopefully U.P. doesn’t claim “Not Our Fault” in awarding them a settlement.
Nice job on fixing the train crossing, but hole pete. 😂
ОтветитьBad part is they are going to nail the driver even though legally it falls to the spotters that a load that size in the state of texas is required to have.
ОтветитьAll of these crossings have warnings about low-boy trailers. Hopefully, the driver will be charged, indicted and proscecuted.
ОтветитьWhere's Mayor Pete ?
Ответить😮 That train's front wheels lifted off the ground when it hit!
ОтветитьThere are reports out that the blue sign number was called 30 minutes before collision and dispatch forgot about the call. Audio recording timestamps will determine culpability. Lot of investigating needed to get to the bottom of this one. Only winners here will be the lawyers prosecuting this.
ОтветитьSustainable wind power. Thanks.
ОтветитьThat railroad crossing has always been an issue with lowboys for years the city should have done something about it years ago y’all be suing the city of Pecos too the city has known about it for years and done nothing about it just saying
ОтветитьDo you have to be an IDIOT to be a truck driver? I'm sure he will be celebrating X-Mas with his family! Very very sad for the crew just doing their job! RIP :( Who is going to be held ACCOUNTABLE? Imagine if that were an Amtrak train!
ОтветитьSad, so very, very sad. Toyally preventable! The 2 brave railroaders are deceased now. What about their loved ones? God help them thru this horrible time.😩🙏
ОтветитьJustice needs to be done, but sure won't bring peace to families and friends!
ОтветитьThe cops were there. Why did they not phone the rail company and let them know. Is that not their job. The truck druver was trying to get his truck off the crossing. Don't blame the truck driver.
ОтветитьApparently Texas has some different laws for trains going through towns? What was he doing going so fast???
ОтветитьDo we know for sure that nobody called it in? I seem to recall many years ago a stuck truck being called in but the message never got relayed to the locomotive operator. Fortunately no lives were lost in that incident, but this time was different. I find it hard to believe nobody called it yet, but I supposed there is that scenario where everyone thinks someone else called it in.
ОтветитьHoly Shit is right! That driver had to say well shit lets try it. . He sat there for 45 min damn. Ouch. 🤦🏻♂️
ОтветитьTruck Driver and Escorts Should Be Held Accountable for their Stupid Ass Actions!!
ОтветитьWhy was that train going so dam fast through a town, knowing a crossing is ahead?!
Here's your lesson folks, SLOW TF DOWN when coming to a crossing.
Why didn't the local police get involve and call the train operators?
ОтветитьJust another day in the Permian Basin.
Ответитьi read somewhere yesterday that those trucking people had an HOUR with that truck stuck on the tracks. probably could've gotten a bigger vehicle to chain up to it and pull it off the tracks.
ОтветитьWonder if the driver could read and speak English.
ОтветитьI'm favoured financially with Bitcoin ETFs approval, Thank you buddy.$28,600 weekly profit regardless of how bad it gets on the economy.
ОтветитьThis was absolutely a preventable incident. Some people really screwed up here and it cost lives.
ОтветитьThis driver deserves the idiot of the Year award. You really have to be a jackass to do this.
ОтветитьBut it was no longer stuck.
ОтветитьThank you for finding a video that was filmed horizontally (landscape)
ОтветитьWake up Leroy because he never saw a wreck like we are going to have.
ОтветитьIf authorities were on scene 45-60 minutes prior to the collision, I'd say charges need to be brought against who ever was in charge. I've known for years about the xing number and phone number on the poles. Police and Fire department s should know this !!! This was totally preventable !!!
ОтветитьWhy is Trump giving the voice over here......
ОтветитьThe local pd couldn't investigate their own crossing signals meaningfully enough to realize there was a phone number strapped to them to keep this whole ordeal from happening in the first place. Forgive me if I am skeptical that they can conduct an investigation into what happened.
ОтветитьAll the comments about the train going to fast through town and should've slowed down really take the cake. How were these people let outta the womb blows my damn mind 😆.
