Guys, it's about the song, not the voice. That's why countries, like Australia this year, didn't get many points.

They had my vote ❤honestly tho I loved so many songs this year from Estonia to Spain an Moldova to Sweden an Belgium an Serbia it was so much fun an Switzerland I was so surprised as he had beautiful voice an song ❤basically I loved it all 😂

If I know anything about Italian juries it's that they will NEVER vote for the favorites xD

For the public vote it's normally the songs that stand out that get lots of votes. I think a lot of countries suffered because there were so many ballads this year. So countries like Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine really stood out a lot.

439 points is an average of 11.25 points per country, or to put it another way, the maximum any country could get was 468 points, they dropped a total of 29 points total, 29…only country to give them less than the 8, 10, or 12 was Serbia, who gave them 7, Europe truly was United behind ukraines plight and were willing to show their solidarity with them, and help them live some form of joy, no matter how small or insignificant it turns out to be, the only thing we as voting citizens could do really

This actually makes more sense when you look at scores from Semi Finals (they upload those after the finale). Azerbaijan and Switzerland were pretty much saved by the Jury votes, but Televoters didn't really care. They were pretty much pulled from low non-qualifiers by high Jury votes. That's why at the finale they got even less points from Televoters.

Maro from Portugal with "Saudade, Saudade" did the best production job in every aspect.
For this reason, she was considered by the Press as the 3rd best (after Spain and England), the national judges placed her in 5th place and finally she was only in 9th place because we all knew who the largest number of votes from the public would go to.
She was also the favorite of Laura Pausini, Diodato, Konstrakta, Monika Liu, Amanda Tenfjord, Siga, Beta og Olin, Mia Dimšić, Vladana, Andrea and of course others.
The word Saudade, so unique and so Portuguese, was understood and felt in the hearts of thousands around the world.
Portugal likes to share with others the cultural riches that make us proud and extol.

Serbia has got avangard artistic song with very deep multilayered meaning. There's was no such entry in 66 years of Eurovision. People were glad that they got something new and refreshing. Serbia is known for powerful ballads, ethno or pop songs. Serbs felt it is time to send something new. This entry surprised everyone. Konstrakta is underground singer that was not mainstream and shocked everyone by land slide victory in national final. She just wanted promote her song, didn't expect to win. Check this year Serbian runners up Sara Jo "Muškarčina" and Zorja "Zorja". Great songs. Also check Serbian Eurovision songs 2004 (2nd place), 2007 winner, 2008 (6th), 2012 (2nd), 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019,2021

This year 6 countries in second semifinal were accoused of irregularities so their points were made up by EBU in final. So Spain would end up second and UK third. Their top points EBU gave to Ukraine unfortunately because it was sympathy and political move.

3rd place is good. But I wish to see Spain win at least once in my lifetime. Sometimes I feel like even if we try the hardest, it's just a try. Ukraine was going to win this year no matter what, I knew it weeks before the contest. It's all political voting, except from Australia maybe. The important thing is to accept it, enjoy the music and that they are all winners in out hearts, it's the best we can do. Congratulations Chanel.

This is intense you say. I've watched every year since 1985 no wonder I have grey hair. Lol. Funnily enough I was fairly calm at the end this year as I knew Ukraine would win but was so glad Sam hung onto 2nd. You could watch some older eurovisions some are very exciting.

someone who has watched properly since 2012 I've never seen UK get so many points as they did via the first 10 countries - it was insane night, very well deserved jury winner and I'm happy with 2nd place.

Ukraine has won Eurovision twice for political reasons not for their musical talents, but anyway. The real winner was THE UK and Spain in the second place !!! That is for sure whatever the voters say.

I was so happy for UK & Spain, from both being in the bottom five last year with 0 points to coming 2nd and 3rd this year. See, If you put in the effort, It pays off. Well done UK & Spain. Also congrats to Ukraine.

Reacting to more from the past seems like a snug winter evening cozy thing to do, with candels and just cuddeling up under blanket enjoying the contests from the past - a glass of wine or 2 or for me a rom and coke, some snacks and just joyful time - That would be close to our Danish way of Hygge =) Maybe even invite some core friends over to be cozy with you

I was in the audience! I was a fan of both the UK and Ukraine, as well as Portugal, so I was very happy with the outcome (I'd have been even happier if San Marino, my favorite country to support every year, was also in the final, but...oh well...). this voting wasnt as shocking as 2021 was. 2021 will forever be one of the most shocking and most epic votings in ESC recent history. What is also important to say is that we the public dont always share the opinion of the juries like for example with Moldova in this case or Finland last year. You really have to watch the voting of 2021.
In my opinion Spain should have won it... I dont dislike Ukranians song, it was a good song, but we all know what reason also influenced the public vote.

I know this comment is late, but it was funny for me to watch your reaction and how surprised were you. I'm european and i can tell you, we all knew Ukraine was gonna win. This is how Eurovision works. Politics. I'm not saying their song was bad, but it was not a winner. I will gladly watch your next eurovision reaction.
