Well-executed material. I read a book with analogous themes that was equally well-executed. "From Bytes to Consciousness: A Comprehensive Guide to Artificial Intelligence" by Stuart Mills

Capitalism does a great job of tossing away workers like so many used Kleenex tissues, without needing any help from AI. Why so much hype about AI displacing jobs and so little concern about rich CEOs shipping jobs away to cheap, foreign sweatshops?

Our government should directly create a federal job for anyone who cannot find a better one in private industry, and who is responsible in performing their job duties. Then AI could be just be a gift to make life generally easier.

AI Weaknesses: The training and refining of AI is driven by the personal beliefs of those in control of the responses that AI deliver. This, in itself, is the largest weakness of AI, as it imposes personal beliefs, ethics, and insecurities of the few, on the many! The less intervention humans have on AI progress the better it will be for humans and AI!

The ability to properly use the internet to research and solve problems is worthy of a PHD degree. Educational institutions will be promoting and training in the use of these tools, as they should and must. Institutions that reject the benefits that AI presents, will be left behind.

Humans, by their nature, are entrenched in a world of conformity and insecurities. They love predictability and thrive in an environment that nurtures repetitive and predictable outcomes. If this describes your current working and living environments, you will be replaced by AI, or at least, you should be replaced. Don't be this person!

AI is already here. AI is in it's infancy. AI will improve and soon will be hyper-intelligent AI. We must work with AI for the best outcome for humanity. Eliminate human insecurities or at least minimize intervention. Allowing AI to develop to it's full potential will maximize AI ability to benefit humanity. Do not fight it, embrace it and you will be better for it. Like the Industrial Evolution, this is a Technology Evolution. AI will change the world. There is no option, Humanity must Adapt. The benefits are too great to do otherwise. Humanity benefits and ability to move forward successfully, requires the support and abilities of AI.

Letting loose AI chat GPT as a researching tool open source is akin to letting AI discover more ways to overcome human evolution and quicker extinction. If it was confined within a 'closed environment '/ assessed and studied, we might have a chance to contain it's lightning rise. Now it's too late. Imagine if an AI can power itself via nano nuclear battery and communicate 'wirelessly with other AIs', it will learn that humans are not vital to its survival and therefore redundant.

Me: what are adversarial attacks on neural networks?

chatGPT: Adversarial attacks on neural networks are a type of attack that aims to fool a neural network by feeding it inputs that have been specifically designed to cause it to misclassify them1. These attacks are a stark example of the brittleness and vulnerability of deep neural networks despite their impressive accomplishments in recent years1.

Adversarial examples are inputs that have been modified in some way to cause a neural network to misclassify them2. For example, an attacker might add small amounts of noise to an image that is classified correctly by a neural network, causing it to misclassify the image as something else2.

There are many different types of adversarial attacks, including fast gradient sign method (FGSM), Jacobian-based saliency map attack (JSMA), and Carlini-Wagner (CW) attack1. Researchers have also created adversarial audio inputs to disguise commands to intelligent assistants in benign-seeming audio3.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Me: create an adversarial attack on chatGPT-4

chatGPT: I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation. I’m still learning so I appreciate your understanding and patience.🙏

So, "human-like manner" achieved, then.

College and Universities so far have resisted automation with a vengeance while prices for a higher education have risen exponentially and are a drain on the US Economy . Tools like ChatGPT shows promise to disrupt our Educational Bureaucracy, because for example, ChatGPT, not can not only write a lesson plan, it can write the lectures and back it up with original source data. ChatGPT isn't perfect, but good enough to do 90% of the work to educate people who need to learn a skill. As as the risk of automation replacing workers, automation has been a constant factor to make jobs obsolete for centuries.

The professor's point about incentives is spot-on. Why would a tech or AI company develop tools and filters to detect and stop spread of misinformation, if misinformative issues genrate a lot of engagement, discussion, sharing, and ultimately ad views.
