the tip with the stations designer was the ultimate tip, I didn't even think about using it before XD
and i have been playing the series since X1 🤣

X4: is somewhat a forgotten gem. The space game that actually has it all depending how you what to play it. Unlimited hours of game play.

By the time the player gets a ship able to target trade ships effectively, at that point you probably got a enough for a medium trade ship and two medium miners. Plus pirating can take a rep hit. At this point the first story quests are probably done.

Leave game running. Don't even have to pay attention to it for a few hours. Start making the first solar panel and container on the HQ. Done. Automated profit to start up your empire.

The Boron stations make for a PITA trying to hack a blueprint. Hate curves so much

all these new space games made for millions of dollars and x4 is still the king of space sims.
