It always annoys me when watching these demos and they just do a distorted tone. Clean tones should have priority. If it sounds good clean it will sound good distorted but not necessarily the other way around.

Notice that when you engage the Power Amp section there is a reverb added. This is not a bad reverb, but it's really annoying if you want to use your own reverb. The reverb is fixed and can't be adjusted or turned off. Really odd that Nux don't advertise this feature. Maybe it can be turned off in the software but i'm not game to try this. I don't want to brick it and I currently don't really trust Nux because of this annoying unwanted feature they did not tell me about. I get a lot of hum with the XLR output - it's a shame they don't have a ground lift. I'm guessing that maybe you had phantom power turned on which is why it shut down? I will probably use a passive Radial JDI to give isolation. On the plus side - i'm liking the sounds I can get with this and other pedals. Not sure that it's any better than Boss or Line6 modelers though - just easier to use.

So can you go into this with a guitar, then into a DAW and negate the use of a mic? I have a lot of outside noise when I'm recording and that's what I'm really after. The amp models would be a bonus.

Can anyone Please explain how I use the Nux solid Studio with my guitar amp. I’m only using a reverb pedal and the Nux Solid Studio box. I have no PA system or no speaker cabinet or mixer. Just the pedals and guitar amp.

So is this something you still have and work with? If so, I'd like to see how it deals with fuzz. It's my experience that IR devices freak out when fuzz or other effects that normally interact with real amps are pushed through a sim of some type.

I bought the pedal and I get a high pitch sound when using xlr output no matter what I do. with or without any input and with both footswitches on or off. Any help?

XLR output is wired wrong on these. Ground pin1 is not connected to ground, instead pin 2 is grounded.

Running a loop with a horrific sounding guitar to demo this pedal just sucks big time.
At least with the Iridium you gave it a chance to demo it's capabilities.
So the New X ( NUX) at half the price of the Iridium... how does it match up?

I bought one of these several months ago, and have used in church and several live gigs. This thing sounds remarkably good. I no longer need to lug an amp around. Setup effort for solo gigs is drastically reduced.

I NEED HELP.
I'm having a problem with my SOLID STUDIO. It creates glitches, lag, low octave noises, and it sucks my tone so bad.
This happened after I load an IR into the pedal. It's so frustrating.
I tried my other preamp pedal and it worked fine. I tried my board directly to my interface without the SOLID STUDIO pedal. Again, it worked fine. No glitches, No Lag.
Hope anyone could help me fix this.

Bullshit test. To know the real timbre it is necessary to use the clean guitar.

Maybe the board was sending 48v phantom power and the pedal didn't like it?

Is there a competitor to this pedal?

Worth noting that the Solid State needs 9v at 500mA, which means some power supply bricks won't have enough juice. I should fess up. MY power supply had only 300mA. The results were... interesting. The pedal is a beast, but how accurate the sims are is beyond me. But it sounds good, and that's all that matters, eh?

Quick question - when you press the amp button there's suddenly reverb. Where did that come from?

I think this unit cannot be used as an audio interface, the USB is there only for loading your own impulse responses and to update the firmware.

It would be great if you updated this.
