Imagine buying a horror movie and big chungus is on the screen the entire time
ОтветитьNgl, I'm a bit disappointed that The Others wasn't on this iceberg. I'm sure some people will argue that it's a supernatural horror, not psychological, but the twist I think eliminates that once it's revealed what the mother did and that they were the ghosts all along. It reminds me of The Sixth Sense a lot in that way but the psychological horror themes are much stronger in this case (though I honestly don't view The Sixth Sense as a horror movie at all, in my opinion it's really a tragedy)
The Others is genuinely my favorite horror movie of all time, with the paranoia and the unravelling of the mother's mind and her own distorted sense of reality creating, while not a new one, a narrative that never fails to engage me. I usually find most horror movies boring, but The Others had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, feeling the confusion and mystery along with the characters. It plays with themes of warping reality, home invasion, hauntings, grief, motherhood and paranoia in a really great way. While The Others isn't a super groundbreaking or unique film, it's still one of the best horror movies I've seen to date.
Dude, if you're going to review movies, you gotta learn how to pronounce the character names. The hilarious way you kept pronouncing Ephraim from the Lighthouse took me right out of that segment.
ОтветитьWatched until you felt the need to go on a Jesus spiel. Love having jesus' love shoved down my throat while im just trying to watch an iceberg video about movies
Ответитьso every one gotta be described as claustrophobic
ОтветитьBLADEE REFERENCE
Ответитьits Jamesn caan (con)
ОтветитьYou should really learn the correct pronounciations of character's names if you're going to talk about them in a video. It's incredibly obvious you're just reading off of Wikipedia and have no idea what you're talking about when you fuck up saying the names of some of the most iconic movie characters of all time. Clarice sounds like Cla-reese not Clare-iss.
ОтветитьI'm surprised Jacob's Ladder wasn't mentioned in this iceberg anywhere.
Ответитьyes. psychological horror needs more appreciation
ОтветитьWhat a bs video
Ответитьisnt american psycho a satire its not meant to be taken seriously
ОтветитьMy watched Orphan with my friend (Who had already seen it) and before the movie even STARTED he spoiled the plot twist for me. He literally said "By the way" and then spoiled it. The movie is really good though and I highly recommend. So is Pearl.
Ответитьwhat the deal with the audio?
it's all over the place
Ima need someone to make a list of legit every movie in this lol even tho I’ve seen some of them I’m jus so bored
ОтветитьEvery time I get into what you are saying and think "Wow this is really good" you say some cringe online shxt :/
ОтветитьSoy horror, also know as slow burn horror, is a sub-genre of horror films characterised by a generally slow pace, suspense build-up, character development, focus on atmosphere and a lack of jumpscares and graphic violence. Soy horror films eschew sudden rushes of adrenaline in favour of an escalating feeling of dread, anxiety, uncertainty and disturbance, and often involve mental illness and inner demons as the "real horror", while abjuring paranormal elements. The genre has been recently popularised by American Internet "critics" who allege that these films are "saving cinema"
Ответитьi neeeed like a list of all the movies mentioned in this video
Ответитьi love the house that jack built, the person that recommended it to me said it was a great horror movie for women which i agree with. a lot of the horror for me was less with the brutality and mentality of the killer and more with how easily he got away with it. it was damn near ridiculous at some points but also not so far out of the bounds of reality.
ОтветитьPOSSUM MENTIONED! that aside, possum and would you rather are among my top 25 movies of all time, along with silence of the lambs.
ОтветитьI like how he just causally mentioned he tripped on Benadryl last weekend lol
ОтветитьI never watched the movie Detention, but I am very familiar with the video game of the same name. I'm tempted to watch it to see how similar it is to the game.
ОтветитьPOSSUM MENTIONED 💪💪☝🏆(fr tho, its one of my fav films of all time. i havent looked at the actual iceberg yet but im hoping that m, what ever happened to baby jane and eyes without a face will make an appearance)
Ответитьnever put your mic into ur throat ever again. It was horrible
ОтветитьHaving seen most of these for myself, if I had to guess, a lot of them seem to be obscure not for being hard to watch, find, nor understand but because they are Simply Not That Good (and so performed poorly and did not popularize/get much coverage). It was really boring seeing the quality drop as we got lower, kinda a waste of time IMO :\
JFTR. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and the final two entries are the only titles in the lower half of the iceberg that I would recommend to Any fans of the genre. That being said, not one of their placements speaks accurately to their level of mainstream recognition/obscurity. I think this has finally turned me off of iceberg videos, thank you for saving me the future brainrot.
"ohio guy-it"
Ответитьdeadass love your videos man- perfect to watch while cleaning my room👍
ОтветитьCommenting this before watching. I hope Emesis Blue shows up :3
Ответитьsubscribe button looked cute I had to subscribe
ОтветитьHey there! I really liked the video. Only thing I’d recommend is not telling your audience to “turn to Jesus”. I’m a pagan and it makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable when people try to push their Christianity on me. I completely respect your belief and I don’t have a problem with Christianity, just please keep in mind that saying stuff like that can alienate your audience.
Ответитьnot "goodnight mommy" being the most replayed
ОтветитьA Tale of Two Sisters is fantastic and I recommend it to anyone interested in South Korean films.
ОтветитьThat typo on the thumbnail though.
Ответитьthe real psychological horror was hearing that bladee reference...
Ответитьthis is lame. leaving a fat dislike
ОтветитьDo more reaserch and stop talking.
ОтветитьI like your voice and commentary but some of the jokes are really weak and drag on for too long and the religious thing needed to not be added.
ОтветитьThe Innocents and The Haunting of Bly Manor are both film adaptations of Henry James's famous 1898 gothic horror story "The Turn of the Screw". If you enjoyed those, you should check out The Nightcomers (1972), which is a prequel to "The Turn of the Screw", starring Marlon Brando as Peter Quint.
And since you mentioned my favorite horror director of the 21st century, Mike Flanagan, who made The Haunting of Bly Manor and Gerald's Game, you might like some of his other films/miniseries, like Absentia, Oculus and his updated The Haunting of Hill House, all of which are filled with psychological horror elements.
In regard to American Psycho: The literal ONLY difference between the book and movie, since the narrator is lying for clout (hurr durr I rad de book am ints butter) is one single scene in which Bateman stabs a kid in the neck "to see if he likes killing kids". He does not and decides to not kill kids. The book and the movie are basically shot-for-shot identical otherwise. Boo to you, poi, for lying about having "read the book first". You didn't. You never read that book and you're a liar. It is literally the exact same as the movie aside from that one scene
Don't think I'm against you or anything like that. I really enjoyed this video, I dig your presentation and presence. And I'm gonna watch a few more of your videos after this. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't, especially on the internet where you'll meet people from all walks of life, lie about reading a book first and then go on to explain how it's SO different from the movie when that's patently, and verifiably false
Annunciation is key. The subtitles can't even understand you sometimes...
ОтветитьI highly recommend that you put a disclaimer for spoilers.
ОтветитьI'm impressed you find good things to say about many just bad movies shown here in between of the good movies.
