I don’t get why the reviewer believes the closed case back is a welcome feature on a watch that is 30m water resistant. Do you think a sapphire case back would bring it down to 15m? This is at an age when even Rolex is replacing their (extremely unattractive) solid case backs with sapphire exhibition ones. The solid case back on this watch is a major turn off for me. As boring as a PAM movement can look, I’d still rather have a view of it than some stamped, dead piece of stainless steel.
ОтветитьNice watch and super review. But why oh why has Panerai opted for a mere 30m water resistance? Every budget watch these days comes with 100m. If you're dropping 6,000 bucks you want to be able to wear it in the rain.
ОтветитьPanerai is back imho
Ответить".. with 30m water resistance" - closes video.
Ответить30meter tool watch? 😂
Ответить“Considering, possibly having the watch in my collection in the future” - Panerai, this one isn’t a buyer!
ОтветитьIs this going to be in this guys wedding dvd
ОтветитьUnless I missed it, would help to state or show your wrist size for reference. 30M WR?? Bring back the 337 in 42mm 100m WR!
ОтветитьYou went on a boat with it. Why?
ОтветитьI bought myself this watch and the newer productions have a 50m WR rating. The low WR comes from the very thin saphire crystal.
I think this watch could handle swimming due to the screw down crown, but who would go swimming with a leather strap anyways...
And then there’s also the Luminor Quaranta.
ОтветитьThe 30m water resistance is brutal
ОтветитьLove the look. But the 30mm water resistance makes it a hard no for me.
ОтветитьPanerai should hire the clone factories to teach them to have better WR
ОтветитьPanerai dress watch. Perfect.
ОтветитьCan we please just all learn the difference between depth & pressure...?
3atm may be rated for handwashing but 30m is absolutely good for diving.
If Omega's 50m watches can go down to 50m then why on earth shouldn't these go down to 30?
If the 30m rating is indeed wrong then that's a bigger topic for another day!
30m... Do panerai want to detroy the brand?
ОтветитьThanks for the review, Danny <3
ОтветитьIts beautiful, price is restrained, and the lug-to-lug is perfect, below 50 mm means almost anyone can enjoy it. Great review, Hodinkee.
ОтветитьWe'll done.. I like this review. I agree you're not the guy I see wearing a Panerai, but this one you wear well 👍🏻
Ответить30 meters for a naval watch?
ОтветитьIf it were to lose its second hand and date complication it would be perfect.
ОтветитьNot my cup of tea. 30m WR is unacceptable. Would 100% prefer the 42mm 1940 case style models. The Luminor Quaranta is a different story and a proper Panerai.
Ответитьpass
ОтветитьIt's clearly a dress watch, not a dive watch. If you want a dive watch, don't buy this. If you like the Radiomir styling for a dress watch, fill your boots.
ОтветитьGreat review.
ОтветитьThis watch is beatifull, when I saw it in local distributor I was hooked, until I realized it has only 30m water resistance. Not that I am a big diver, but that is lazy. If this watch will have 100m water resistance, I will be the first in line for sure.
ОтветитьThe only drawback to me is the date window, not only it breaks the sandwich dial continuity, the date script is white, not ivory like the lume. If it doesn’t have the date window and have a transparent case back, it’ll be the perfect Panerai for me. The 30m water resistance is fine, you wouldn’t wear it to go swimming anyway
ОтветитьWhat sort of dishes are you doing at 30m ?
ОтветитьThe buckle strap is an absolute joke - I’ve had this watch for a few months now, and love it to bits… until I put it on or take it off. Deployment clasp please Panerai, come on!
ОтветитьI'm not sure about Cal. P900.
Does this model have hacking seconds? Thx in advance.
While i personally prefer the larger size watches, I'm really happy to see them offer these smaller ones
ОтветитьU mentioned the depth rating is 30m but on the panerai website its 50m?
ОтветитьToo small
ОтветитьGood overview of the 40mm Panerai.
ОтветитьLooks a little odd to me with 100% polish and then still so much lume. And then practically no water resistance. Talk about a watch with an identity crisis.
ОтветитьA 6000$ watch model known for having diving heritage and being tough but now can’t even handle a few splashes? No thanks. This is just exorbitantly priced for the brand name. I don’t know what I’m paying for anymore.
Ответитьmeh
ОтветитьThinking of selling my omega aqua terra day date calibre 8602 for this PAN. Question is do I ? Is it a good swap?
ОтветитьI won’t buy any dress watch that only has 30-50 meters….
ОтветитьWhat size is your wrist?
Ответитьbeen there, done that. 20 years ago.
ОтветитьI like it, but it's still too big imo. 38mm would've been perfect.
ОтветитьGreat Week on the Wrist. Totally daft WR though - get a thread on that crown.
ОтветитьWhat is you wrist size?
ОтветитьThis without a date window would be perfect
